THE HERE AND NOW

After running iTunes Pan Europe and most recently Disney Music, I’m now the founder of Ceviche and Andina. These restaurants are run by a world class team of people who, like me, are passionate about Peruvian food and culture.

We launched Tiger’s Milk Records which is a music company dedicated to discovering new and old artists from Peru as well as our Ceviche cookbook with the publisher Orion and we work hard to support Amantani.org.uk which is a charity helping very poor children in Peru. We also run cooking masterclasses and events and are creating some beautiful ingredients and products.

BEGINNINGS

I’ve been cooking since the age of 11. This passion has been with me since then so in 2010 I quit my job as Head of Disney Music, sold my house and decided to dedicate my life to food and culture from Peru. Ceviche was then born.
My dad was English and my mother is Peruvian. In my teens I worked as a silver service waiter, a barman and then as a DJ before starting my own events with food and music including the much loved Global Kitchen which featured a dj playing records and cooking at the same time. That was me.

MUSIC AND PRODUCTION

I’ve produced compilations of diverse artists such as King Tubby, Chet Baker, Miriam Makeba and Celia Cruz. At EMI I signed and developed KT Tunstall, Oi Va Voi and Koop and worked with Joss Stone and Novalima and at Disney I launched High School Musical, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Selina Gomez in Europe. All that was fun, but the urge to work with my own culture and roots, create a legacy and help new creatives in Peru is my calling.

STUFF HAPPENS

I’ve lived through terrorism in Peru, been kidnapped in Mexico, DJed in Morroco, New York, Tokyo, Rio and Moscow and studied in Barcelona. Iv’e got kids but also lost kids. I’ve been told I’m tenacious, relentless, and never give up when trying to achieve and deliver. I never stop questioning, think laterally and always want work and people to be fair. I want to leave a healthy legacy. I like change, its in my nature. I am curious and always want to learn more; I relish a challenge and believe life is boring without it. Because I’ve failed enough times I’m not prepared to fail again. I want to work with people that inspire me and that I enjoy spending time with; with people that truly care about what we are doing.
